Old Age Question: Soft or hard mattress?

Hey,

I have a 1 and 1/2 year old firm mattress — and I've always had a bit of trouble sleeping on it. I have scoliosis of the spine (where your spine curves outwards slightly) – it isn't bad but enough to cause soem back pain during nights. I dont really get a decent sleep any more and I think its due to my mattress. I went to a hotel in Nottingham and I slept like a baby! Literally! Am also going to consider blackout curtains as mine let in the light too much.

Any thoughts/recommendatioins would be much appreciated.

    well get what the kind the hotel had soft or hard also get the black out curtins
    i hpoe the baby will sleep better :)

    I've discovered that today's firm mattresses are much more firm that just a few years ago. You may have noticed that the box spring or foundation under the new mattress has little or no give to it at all, and this adds to the firmness of the entire set. Due to the increased weight of most people, mattress companies are accommodating that by making the mattresses more firm. You may want to try a foam pad on top of the mattress to soften it slightly and make sleep more comfy.

    I'd look into buying a temperpedic matress. expensive but worth the investment. They are comfy :)
